In Hillhouse we have become used to expecting the unexpected.This morning was no exception as firstly David was about to begin the service when he noticed our organist was “missing”.However more was to follow when we came to the first reading !!

This morning’s service had a “Scottish” theme.All the hymns were Scottish,including one written by our organist,Yvonne.The readings were from Jamie Stuart’s “Glasgow Gospel” and “The New Testament in Scots” translated by W.L.Lorimer.David even wore his robes for the occasion–although,as you will notice,he didn’t always switch off his microphone when he should have.We hope you enjoy sharing this Scottish experience with us.

Back in our freshly painted church this morning when we welcomed David Dalgleish who spoke about his trip to South Sudan.Following our absence from the church last Sunday there were a couple of problems when microphones were off when they should have been on and vice-versa,but this did not spoil what was a very interesting and enjoyable service.

WE are sorry we cannot bring you our service this week.This is due to the fact that our church is being painted and the service this morning was held in the hall with the choir being “elevated” to the stage -for one week only.All the hymns were chosen by one of our members,Sandra Johnstone, and David would like to invite others to do this for future services.The work in the church should be completed during the coming week,so we look forward to sharing our service with you again next Sunday.
