Church News

At the service on Sunday 13th we had 7 girls who are the Fair Trade committee from Townhill Primary school. They told us how they promote the work of Fair Trade within the school and about the rice challenge where they had to sell 270 bags of rice to help children in Malawi to get an education. They achieved this and now 3 children in Malawi are in school for a year due to their efforts. In response to this they had a farmer over from Malawi to thank them and tell the school about the work and life in his community. As a result of this talk the church has taken up the challenge to buy bags of Fair Trade rice to send another child to school.

On Friday 18th May the Boy’s Brigade display will take place in the church from 7 pm.

On Saturday 19th there is a Puppet Show performed by the Acting Up group in the church hall from 3 pm –5 pm. Cost is £3-00 payable at the door, this includes refreshments.

Rev David Burt will lead the service on Sunday morning from 10-45 am, all are welcome to attend and tea and coffee will be served after the close of service.

On Saturday 26th there will be a car boot sale in the car park cost £5-00 per car . To book a space call Iain McLean 01698 826678

What The Congregation Are Up To…

Jean Rodger would be grateful if anyone who has some spare wool lying around could get it to her for a project in Millar Park. The wool can be given to Jean on a Sunday morning.
