The Junior Church is made up of various departments that cater for a variety of ages of children. The beginners department welcomes children aged 3 and 4 years old. They enjoy Bible stories and learning about Jesus and God on a way that is appropriate to their age.
The juniors are aged from primary 1 to primary 3 and the range of Bible activities they enjoy are geared towards their age group. There is a structure to the time the children spend in juniors and the children have a lots of fun mixed in with their learning.
The seniors are aged from primary 4 to primary 7 and although there is big variety in the age range any activity is designed to suit all the ages within this group. The activities are a mixture of learning about the Bible, craft activities and games.
If you have a child that would be interested in joining with the Junior Church or if your are visiting Hamilton Hillhouse Church then the leaders of the appropriate section would be delighted to meet you and your child any Sunday morning.
At the back of the church we have our Nativity scene with figures coming all the way from America! Sam Benson’s daughter-in-law has sent these beautiful figures to the church.
The Nativity stable was made as a community project by Margaret Young and Jane Horne’s Childminding services. The children involved in the project range in age from 11 months to 9 years old and attend Udston and Townhill Primary schools, some of the children attend our Junior organisations. They are keen to show off their hard work to their peers when they go to the church for their school Christmas services.
